As a friend of this family for over
10 years the words to express my sadness at this great loss do not
come easily. As a parent I like to believe that I can comprehend the
tragedy that all of us dread in this role, but I cannot. No words that
I could write or say would express in any way properly the sorrow that
we all experiencing today. I only hope that whatever I say will give
comfort to this family that will endure this loss for as long as they
hold dear the memory of this fine young lad that was taken from us all
long before his time should have come.
Frank was a very fine young man. No
doubt many of you knew him better than I did, but my relationship with
him produced very special memories. In business often we were butting
heads over deadlines and equipment shortcomings. No matter how hard I
tried to be mad, he would give me that broad grin and a shot of his
quick wit and all the anger would leave me. We shared a love for the
electric guitar and although we rarely had the opportunity to play
together, I will remember those few special moments that we did. I
remember signing his guest book on his fishing web site. He made a
special point of looking me up to thank me. While business pursuits
have taken me away from the joy of fishing for quite a number of
years, my son and I had discussed an outing this coming summer with
Frank. I think we will still go an honour his memory in our journey.
I will end this with the words placed
upon our daily message at our office by my son on Wednesday morning.
"A happy go lucky guy named Frank was taken from us in a fatal
automobile accident. You will remember him as the tall funny, always
joking around computer guy who visited our offices so often. He was a
good friend to all who knew him."
