The Saskatchewan Walleye Trail is the premier Walleye fishing circuit in Western Canada. Anglers from all over Saskatchewan, Manitoba, North and South Dakota, Montana and Alberta travel to compete among some of the best anglers in this part of North America. To partake in the final prizes of the year such as, Angler of the Year, Team of the Year, Mixed team of the year or even the new categories this year for those who wish to be trail members but can only fish in one, two or three events. To join the Trail takes an initial investment from the angler of a mere $30.00 Can. All of the Trail events are of the two-day variety and most teams are very competitive. The most challenging of tournaments on the Trail is Qu'Appelle. At Qu'Appelle there are four lakes in a chain through the Qu'Appelle Valley. All have good populations of walleye, but the biggest catch here is you only get to fish at either the northern two lakes or the southern two on your first day and on the others the following day. This makes it a little tougher because just when you get it all figured out you move over to the other lakes and hope your fish stayed from two or three days ago when you pre fished. It is very interesting to see what happens here. So if you are so inclined to try something maybe a little different or have always wanted to compete give one of the organizers a call and we will send you a package. 1999 is the year to "TAKE THE TRAIL" as our new slogan states. So come give it a whirl, tournaments could be what you need to spice up your fishing and to see what you really have got. You may be the competitive type and be able to take home some ca$h.
